Great article, but the one thing that bothered me (call me picky) was the use of the word "faster". Now although you could argue that the FX55 ran the benchmark tests "faster" than the Intel's, and even say it runs through it's calculations "faster", the average joe/jane associates the word "faster" with clock speed. The AMD FX55 is not "faster" than the Intel's and if we are ever going to get the idea of clock speed being the only important factor out of the publics minds we should be leading by example. A more accurate description of AMD FX55s dominance of the benchmarks may be "more powerful" or a measurement in Gigaflops maybe? But to say the AMD FX55 is "faster" than the Intel's, suggests to the average joe/jane clock speed, not calculatory power. (is there such a word as calculatory? ) :)
So lets lead the way and get away from this "speed" business and try (where possible) to avoid the use of the word "faster". I personally would like to know the performance of these CPUs measured in Gigaflops.
Just a thought.
