NVIDIA has taken on a whole lot of companies in their efforts in both the VGA and chipset markets and so far they seem to be winning in many areas. Although their graphics division has to constantly fight ATI for domination their chipset division has seemed to find a niche of its own with the AMD crowd with much less fireworks and hoopla. The nForce line began with their VGA cards but the nomenclature has found its way into their desktop chipset products as well bring to the table such notables as the nForce 1, 2, 3 and now it matures again with the introduction of the new nForce 4 line that tackles many of today's latest problems including network security which has become an entire domain of problems in its own right.
PCI-X graphics, better memory control, better overclocking, SLI Dual-VGA graphics solutions and network security are being introduced with NVIDIA's new Nforce4 platform. There will be three separate lines for this new platform ranging from the introduction boards, the ultra boards and finally the high-end SLI solutions for the enthusiasts and hard-core gamers. We were very lucky that our friends from NVIDIA could stop by my home and do their very intriguing demo that explained all the new features and options of this new platform. Thanks to Brian, Micah and Peter who took the time to include us in this round of the tech tour and come by my lab, thanks guys, you rock! A couple of our friends, Lawrence and Ed from PC Enthusiasts magazine came by, as did our pal John from www.insanetek.com and Ian from www.gamepyre.com so they could check out what NVIDIA has up their collective sleeve with the NF4. Anyways let's move ahead and see what we have in store for us with the release of the Nforce4 line; I think you will be impressed by many of the new chipsets features, I was, let's see why.
