This board is an interesting mix of old and new technology. In the ever-changing world of computers sometimes one has to take a step back. Video cards like the X800XT AGP are excellent performers whether on AGP or PCI Express. With prices on an X800XT on Price watch over $580 USD, it seems like a waste to need to buy a whole new card just to support the PCI Express Graphics interface. This board is perfect for that type of consumer.

Negatives of the 915P-A include a very sparse bundle both hardware and software wise. The one nagging issue I have with most motherboard manufacturers is the lack of SATA cables. One is simply not enough. ECS really should include more options in the BIOS to please the overclocker or enthusiast. It's especially nagging to me that there are no options in the BIOS to change voltages.

Overall I'm ok with this board. There are few if any other motherboards that support both DDR2 and DDR memory, AGP and PCI Express video cards and as such this is a very unique board on the market. Performance is inline with the other 915P boards and the advantages of not needing to upgrade the AGP card or DDR memory can outweigh the disadvantages of this board.
