With the release of the new BIOS that fixes the issues with the P5B Deluxe motherboard and Crossfire on the Prescott CPUs, there isn't a reason not to recommend this board for the included features, as it scores over 40 on our Features chart with integrated Wi-Fi, Crossfire (though limited by the 4X lanes on the second PCI Express x16 slot), 8 SATA ports, and the other features that makes this board outstanding. The overclock I was able to achieve on the CPU we use for testing was excellent as well.
The board does fall short in a couple of minor ways. The BIOS release to fix the Crossfire issue was issued last week, meaning that some people including early reviewers had boards that Crossfire didn't work with. The performance of the board falls short in a couple of the benchmarks, but excels with the memory tests, as it should be with the 965 chipset. Intel is at an interesting crossroads with their chipset support of ATI's Crossfire chipset. The merger announcement between ATI and AMD means that Intel will likely not support their competitor by pushing Crossfire support on their motherboards like they did with the 975XBX chipset, but only time can tell that issue. The upcoming Kentsfield (Quad Core) launch should be interesting as Intel will likely release a new high-end chipset to replace the 975XBX boards.
