The ECS PX1 Extreme is an interesting board in many respects. The board supports Intel's Viiv platform. The included bundle is excellent in every respect with the hardware and software both, as 5 SATA cables are enough for everyone except the most ardent enthusiast. The board supports ATI's Crossfire dual video card setup, meaning if you have two cards you can run them in simultaneous mode.
The overclocking options really miss the boat, as the board has no multiplier options and the FSB is limited to 333MHz, meaning that the Extreme part of the board is not a good overclocker. The board is targeted at the $160 price point and as such there are less expensive more overclocking friendly boards on the market like the Gigabyte 965P-DS3.
For those looking for a stable board with Viiv features, the ECS PX1 Extreme is a good choice, as no time during everyday usage was there issues with stability. The board is also noteworthy for having an IDE to SATA adapter, useful for those wanting more than the single PATA port on the board. The inclusion of an external SATA port on the Rear IO is another plus.
